Homemade Potato Soup Slow Cooker Recipe
Well, I have had a couple of folk ask me for a potato soup recipe. I have a new one to share with you. I will get up with mother later and get her homemade version of this soup! She never used a slow cooker for this but hers was always delicious with a big slab of homemade cornbread! You can view our regular Corn Bread recipe by clicking “HERE”
Now no matter how you make potato soup you need cornbread. We also have a Bacon and Cheddar Corn Bread recipe you can find by clicking “HERE” This would also be delicious with this recipe.
Now, we have established that potato soup is wonderful with corn bread, so we can move on to our recipe! I think you are going to like this one! Oh, I almost forgot, this is also known as Tater Soup, so if you call it Tater Soup, this is still the right recipe! 🙂

Ingredients for Potato Soup:
- 5 – 6 large Potatoes peeled and sliced
- 2 – Onions chopped
- 2 – Carrots Chopped
- 1 – Stalk of celery
- 4 – Cubes chicken bouillon
- 1 – Tbsp parsley
- 5 – Cups water
- 1 – Tbsp salt
- 1/3 – Cup butter
- Add chives to your taste. (Optional)
- 4 -5 strips of bacon fried crispy (Optional)
- 1- 12oz Can evaporated milk
Directions for Potato Soup:
- You will need a 4 quart slow cooker.
- Separate the chives and milk.
- Add all the ingredients to slow cooker except the milk and chives
- Set the Slow Cooker on low and cook for 7 – 8 hours
- Add the milk and chives during the last hour and stir in well
- Sprinkle with bacon bits and serve hot!
- This will make 8 – 10 servings.
Note: For a smaller serving just cut the recipe in half.
